s <br /> advertisement, bidding and construction of the improvements will be prepared. An opinion of probable <br /> cost will be given to the City at the conclusion of design. BGM will prepare construction permit <br /> applications for IEPA and the Macon County Highway Department if necessary. <br /> BGM will prepare necessary temporary construction easements, a permanent utility easement for the <br /> force main, an access easement and a plat for the pumping station site. Easement negotiations, if <br /> necessary,are outside the scope of this contract. <br /> During construction, BGM will make site visits at the City's request to check on the progress of <br /> construction, answer design questions and check general conformity to the proposed design. Detailed <br /> or continuous construction observation will not be provided. <br /> DESIGN PHASE <br /> The ENGINEER shall perform or be responsible for the performance of the following professional <br /> engineering services for the CITY in connection with the design of the proposed projects hereinbefore <br /> described: <br /> a. Make such detailed surveys as are necessary for the preparation of detailed <br /> construction plans. <br /> b. Determine necessary capacity and design flow rate of the new pumping station using <br /> flow data provided by the CITY. <br /> C. Prepare detailed construction drawings and specifications in such a manner as to permit <br /> the CITY to obtain construction bid prices for the above described PROJECT. <br /> d. Prepare proposal forms, notice to bidders,and the Contract Documents. <br /> e. Prepare estimate of project construction cost based on final plans and documents. <br /> f. Furnish copies of the Contract Documents consisting of Construction Agreement Forms, <br /> General Conditions, Special Conditions, Detailed Construction Plans and Specifications <br /> for review by the CITY,and for submission to permitting authorities. <br /> g. Incorporate CITY's review comments into the final set of contract documents. <br /> h. Assist the CITY with necessary permit applications to all governmental and other <br /> authorities having jurisdiction to approve portions of the PROJECT such as, but not <br /> limited to, the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency and Macon County Highway <br /> Department. <br /> i. Print plans and specifications for the PROJECT required for bidding and construction <br /> purposes. <br /> j. Answer design related questions during the bidding and construction period, and <br /> provide assistance to the CITY in receiving construction bids, analyzing bids received and <br /> making recommendation of contract award. <br /> Last Revised:05/15/2013 <br />
