SPECIAL PROVISIONS <br /> SP-6 PROTECTION OF PRIVATE PROPERTY <br /> ' Description: The Contractor shall protect the private property from damage or <br /> loss occasioned by the Contractor's or subcontractor's operations. The Contractor shall <br /> repair in an approved manner at their own expense and without extra cost to the City of <br /> ' Decatur any such damage, injury, and loss, except such as, in the opinion of the Engineer, <br /> is due to causes beyond their control and not through their fault or neglect. <br /> Basis of Payment: This work shall not be measured for payment separately and <br /> will be considered as included in the pay item(s) for which the work is being performed. <br /> SP-7 ALTERATIONS, CANCELLATIONS,EXTENSIONS,DEDUCTIONS <br /> AND EXTRA WORK <br /> Description: All contractors shall include the unit price and extension amount <br /> ' provided on the bid proposal form as a part of their Bid. The funds established in this <br /> item shall only be used by the City of Decatur in the event alterations, cancellations, <br /> extensions,deductions, or extra work on the project is required. <br /> Basis of Payment: All alterations, cancellations, extensions, deductions, or extra <br /> work shall be completed and paid for in accordance with Section 104.02 of the Standard <br /> Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction. <br /> SP-8 STAR ROUTE ROAD A-2 TREATMENT <br /> Description: Star_Route Road will be upgraded from Reas Bridge Road to the <br /> City limits approximately 0.4 miles north. <br /> This work shall consist of upgrading Star Route Road with a bituminous surface <br /> g <br /> treatment(Class A-2)over a cement stabilized base in accordance with the Section 403 of <br /> ' the Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction, adopted January 1, 2012 <br /> and Supplemental Specifications,dated January 1, 2014 with the exception that the cover <br /> coat to be used for this project will be CA-7 or CA-11 aggregate. <br /> Application rates for materials to be used shall be as follows: <br /> • Bituminous Materials (Cover and Seal Coat) 0.40 gallons/square yard <br /> • Cover Coat Aggregate 30 pounds/square yard <br /> • Seal Coat Aggregate 20 pounds/square yard <br /> ' Basis of Payment: The bituminous surface treatment work shall be paid for at <br /> the contract unit price per GALLON for BITUMINOUS MATERIALS (COVER AND <br /> ' SEAL COATS); and at the contract unit price per TON for COVER COAT <br /> AGGREGATE and SEAL COAT AGGREGATE; which price shall include all <br /> equipment, labor and materials to perform the work. <br /> 43 <br />
