Sweeney, Lieutenant Administrative Operations
Subject: Resolution of Participation and Support for an intergovernmental agreement with the Law
Enforcement Training Advisory Commission,Mobile Team Unit#10.
PURPOSE: The purpose of this memorandum is to request approval for an intergovernmental agreement
between the City of Decatur and the Law Enforcement Training Advisory Commission,Mobile Team Unit#10
(LETAC,MTU 10).
BACKGROUND: The City of Decatur was previously engaged in an intergovernmental agreement with the
Law Enforcement Training Advisory Commission,Mobile Team Unit#11. Asa condition of award of an operating grant from the State, all members of the MTU#10 are
required to have an intergovernmental agreement between the member and LETAC MTU#10. This was the
same practice/policy that was in place when the City of Decatur was previously a member of LETAC MTU#11.
RECOMMENDATION: It would be the recommendation of staff that the Decatur Police Department that the
City of Decatur approve this resolution of participation and support which creates an intergovernmental
agreement with the LETAC MTU#10.
ATTACHMENTS: Resolution of Participation and Support for an intergovernmental agreement with the Law
Enforcement Training Advisory Commission,Mobile Team Unit#10.
POTENTIAL OBJECTION: None Anticipated
STAFF REFERENCE: Todd A.Walker, Chief of Police
424-2741,twalker(&,decaturil.gov
Brad L.
