R2014-78 ACCEPTING THE BID & AUTHORIZING CONTRACT FOR NORTH STREET SIDEWALK VAULT

' 4.02 The first paragraph of Vault Construction has changed as follows: ' This work shall consist of the filling of the existing vault space at 127 W. North Street (Huston Patterson). Work will include removal of the existing sidewalk slab and steel beams, removal of existing window fie, frame, and any items required to remove the ' window and frame, breaking up the existing floor in the area to be filled, construction of a new CMU wall, installation of waterproofing membranes, compacted CA-7 fill, construction of a brick and CMU wall to replace the existing observatory window, and all ' other work necessary for filling of the vault space as shown in the plans. 4.03 The second paragraph of Vault Construction has changed as follows: The sidewalk and beams shall be sawcut and removed,the CMU wall built, and the vault filled. All debris must be removed from the vault prior to filling. The contractor must protect any utility lines that are to remain in the vault during the removal and construction. ' 4.04 The following has been added after the 10`"paragraph: ' A freight elevator can be made available if necessary, but the contractor is encouraged to use the vault opening to transport any material into the basement or vault. ' 4.05 Planter Removal has changed as follows: The Contractor shall remove and dispose of existing planter areas as shown on the project ' drawings. The planter demolition shall include all items within the planter area(concrete, brick, electrical, sprinklers,trees with diameter less than 6", shrubs, stumps, earth, etc.). All material removed shall be disposed of in accordance with Article 202.03. The drain for ' the plantar box shall be capped off below the elevation of the bottom of the sidewalk. 4.06 Fence Removal has been added to the Special Provisions as follows: ' SP-15 FENCE REMOVAL ' DescrinNon: The Contractor shall remove the chain fence around the vault area that is attached to the existing sidewalk and pavement. The contractor will be responsible for the removal and disposal of the fence. Basis of Payment: ' This work will not be paid for separately,but shall all be considered as include in the contract unit price foot for FENCE REMOVAL.
