Project Description <br /> The North Street Sidewalk Vault project will install a block wall to separate the vault from the <br /> rest of the building's basement, remove the vault cap sidewalk, fill the vault and pour a new <br /> sidewalk. <br /> Letting Results <br /> The project plans and specifications were prepared by Chastain&Associates. The project was <br /> advertised on June 4, 2014, and bids were opened on June 25, 2014. The results of the letting are <br /> as follows (bid tabulation attached): <br /> Bidder Bid Price Compared to Engineer's Est. <br /> Over -Under) <br /> Otto Baum Company,Inc. $80,637.00 4.33% <br /> Christy-Foltz, Inc. $97,637.00 26.33% <br /> Evans-Mason, Inc. $113,476.49 46.82% <br /> Engineer's Estimate $77,289.00 ----- <br /> Three contractors took out bid packages and submitted bid proposals for the North Street <br /> Sidewalk Vault Project. Otto Baum Company, Inc. provided the lowest responsible bid at 4.33% <br /> over the engineer's estimate. Otto Baum has successfully completed projects of this type for the <br /> City. The City's design engineer Chastain&Associates, LLC has provided a letter <br /> recommending that the project be awarded to Otto Baum(attached). City staff agrees with this <br /> recommendation. <br /> SCHEDULE: <br /> Work on this project shall begin after a"Notice to Proceed"has been issued from the City. The <br /> North Street Sidewalk Vault project is to be complete by the end of August. <br /> BUDGET/TIME IMPLICATIONS: <br /> Budget Impact <br /> Funding for this project will be from the Bond Fund.
