LEGAL DEPARTMENT MEMORANDUM <br /> NO. 2015-4 <br /> April 13, 2015 <br /> TO: Honorable Mayor McElroy and City Council <br /> FROM: Tim Gleason, City Manager <br /> Wendy Morthland, Corporation Counsel <br /> Mike Frazier, Assistant Corporation Counsel <br /> SUBJECT: Amendment to Chapter 29, Section 11(F)— Delay of Fine Increases for <br /> Administrative Court <br /> RECOMMENDATION: Staff recommends delaying automatic increases in fines for <br /> Administrative Court because such increases are not necessary at this time. <br /> City Code Chapter 29, Section 11(F) states: "Effective May 1, 2013, and every two (2) <br /> years thereafter on May 1, the minimum fine set forth in Table 29-1 shall be increased <br /> automatically by the amount of Ten Dollars ($10) unless the City Council, by ordinance, <br /> delays the effective date of such increase." <br /> Under the proposed ordinance, the fine increases of Ten Dollars ($10.00) scheduled to be <br /> implemented on May 1, 2015, shall not be implemented on May 1, 2015. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTIONS: There are no known or expected objections. <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: <br /> STAFF REFERENCE: <br /> Mike Frazier, Assistant Corporation Counsel, at 424-2807. <br /> BUDGETITIME IMPLICATIONS: None <br />
