(i) the existence of significant facilities and services specifically designed o meet the physical or
<br /> social needs of older persons, or if the provision of such facilities and services is nc t practicable,that such
<br /> housing is necessary to provide important housing opportunities for older persons; nd
<br /> (ii) that at least 80% of the units are occupied by at least one person 55 y rs of age or older per
<br /> unit; and,
<br /> (iii) the publication of, and adherence to, policies and procedures which d onstrate an intent by
<br /> the owner or manager to provide housing for persons 55 years of age or older.
<br /> ARTICLE 9. PUBLIC ACCOMMODATIONS.
<br /> SECTION 9-1. The following definitions are applicable only as said word and phrases are used
<br /> in this Article:
<br /> A. (1) "Place of public accommodation" means a business, acco dation, refreshment,
<br /> entertainment, recreation, or transportation facility of any kind, whether licensed or not, whose goods,
<br /> services, facilities, privileges, advantages or accommodations are extended, offer d, sold, or otherwise
<br /> made available to the public.
<br /> (2) By way of example, but not of limitation, "place of public accc mmodation" includes
<br /> facilities of the following types: inns, restaurants, eating establishments, hotels, t averns, barber shops,
<br /> department stores, clothing stores, hat stores, shoe stores, bathrooms, restrooms, theatres, skating rinks,
<br /> public golf courses, public golf driving ranges, concerts, cafes, bicycle rinks, elevators, ice cream
<br /> establishments, railroads, busses, taxicabs, airplanes, boats, funeral hearses, cremat ries, cemeteries, and
<br /> public conveyances of land, water, or air, public swimming pools and oth r places of public
<br /> accommodation and amusement.
<br /> B. "Operator" means any owner, lessee, proprietor, manager, superintende t, agent, or occupant
<br /> of a place of public accommodation or an employee of any such person or persons.
<br /> C. 'Public official" means any officer or employee of state political sut divisions, municipal
<br /> corporations,park districts, forest preserve districts, educational institutions and scho)Is.
