ORDINANCE NO. 2014-18 ORDINANCE AMENDING CITY CODE - Chapter 70.1 - - PLUMBING CODE - BE IT ORDAINED, BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DECATUR, ILLINOIS: Section 1. That Section 3 of Chapter 70.1 of the City Code of the City of Decatur, Illinois, be, and the same is hereby, modified and amended so that as so modified and amended said Section 3 shall provide as follows: C. Section 890.510 (Add C) For new restaurant buildings grease interceptors (traps) shall be located outside the building and shall be accessible for maintenance purposes. Interceptors thus located shall have a minimum capacity of 1,000 gallons. Exception: The City Construction and Housing Board of Appeals may grant a variance to the requirement(C above) if it is shown that due to circumstances beyond the petitioner's control locating the grease interceptor outside the building would be unduly burdensome and that no reasonable alternative exists. Section 2. That the City Clerk be, and she is hereby, authorized d directed to cause the provisions hereof to be appropriately set out in the City Code authorized to cause the same to be published in pamphlet form according to law.
