(Are there late fees and what are they?)
For all licenses there is a$20/day penalty for being late, up to$400. If they have nc t renewed by the
time their license expires, they must begin the application process from the start, ir cluding the$400
processing fee.
City of Springfield:
Clerk Cecilia Tumulty (Todd Oliver) Ph.789-2216 Ext.l 5
#1—Do you have a deadline for renewing liquor licenses?
Yes,all renewals are due 6(business)days before Dec.31.
#2—What is the consequence for missing that deadline? (Are there late fees and what are they?)
if they renew after that 6h day deadline but before Dec. 31,they have a$50 late fee AND they are
required to go before the liquor commission in January to explain why they were la a to renew. The
liquor commission makes a recommendation to the liquor commissioner and he might impose a greater
fine.
If they renew AFTER Dec. 31,the license has expired and they are not permitted to sell liquor until after
they have gone before the liquor commission and paid whatever fine the liquor commissioner deems fit,
if he chooses to renew their license at all.
