Excerpts from Plan Commission Minutes of July 11,2013 continued:
According to section XIII.F. of the Zoning Ordinance the Plan Commission shall review the
application at a public hearing and will make findings concerning the consisten y of the application
with the Comprehensive Plan, the Zoning Ordinance and other land development regulations.
Based on the findings, the Plan Commission will make a recommendation to the City Council. A
motion to forward Calendar Number 13-39 to the City Council with a recommendation for approval
is suggested.
Mr. Phil Cochran, representative, was sworn in by Mrs. Poland.
Mr. Cochran said this project was being brought back before the Plan Commission to amend the 13-
3 Planned Shopping Center District to allow for the addition of a restaurant use in the place of
office space that was approved in a previous amendment. This proposed restaurant use will
increase the number of parking spaces. This is the same project, same location, same building, just
a different use in the south part of the building.
Mr. Dial asked if any of the changes will affect the flow of traffic for the gas station or other
businesses in the area. Mr. Cochran stated the four (4) additional parking stalls will be at the very
south end and it will not affect the flow of traffic for the neighboring businesses
There were no objectors present.
It was moved and seconded (Peck/Myatt) to forward Calendar No. 13-39 to the City Council with
recommendation for approval as submitted. Motion carried unanimously.
