Wood Street Between Jasper and US 36 8,509 <br /> Total Quantity 15,463 <br /> BIDDING: <br /> Letting Results <br /> The project scope and specifications were prepared by the Engineering Division and approv d by the Illinois Department of <br /> Transportation(IDOT) for the use of Motor Fuel Tax funds. The project was advertised on July 15 and 22, 2015, and bids <br /> were opened on July 27, 2015. The results of the letting are as follows(bid tabulation attac ed): <br /> Bidder Bid Price Compared to Engineer' <br /> Est. <br /> Over(-Under) <br /> Dunn Company $1,316,939.07 4.52% <br /> Illinois Valley Paving/UCM $1,435,689.27 13.94% <br /> Engineer's Estimate $1,259,989.85 ------ <br /> RECOMMENDED AWARD:Two contractors took out bid packages for the Street Reston tion Project, Dunn Company <br /> and Illinois Valley Paving. Dunn Company provided the lowest responsible bid at 4.52%above the engineer's estimate. <br /> Prices for concrete related items came in higher than expected which accounts for most of the difference between the <br /> engineer's estimate and bid prices. Dunn Company has successfully completed many jobs o this type for the City. <br /> Following approval of the Mayor Pro Tempore and City Council, the bid tabulation will be ffirwarded to the Illinois <br /> Department of Transportation for final approval in accordance with the rules governing the disbursement of Motor Fuel Tax <br /> funds. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTIONS: There are no known objections to this resolution and bid award. <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES:Illinois Department of Transportation <br /> SCHEDULE: <br /> Following approval of the contract by the City Council the contracts will be forwarded to the Illinois Department of <br /> Transportation(IDOT) in Effmgham for approval. Work on this project shall begin after a'14otice to Proceed"has been <br /> issued from the City. The Street Restoration project is scheduled to be complete before Oct ber 31, 2015. <br /> BUDGET/TIME IMPLICATIONS: <br /> Budget Impact <br /> Funding for this project is allocated in the Motor Fuel Tax Fund. It is proposed that a total Froject expenditure of <br /> $1,330,000 be authorized representing the low bid amount of$1,316,939.37 plus$13,060.63 for project contingencies.
