J <br /> LEGAL DEPARTMENT MEMORANDUM <br /> NO. 2012-15 <br /> December 20, 2012 <br /> TO: Honorable Mayor McElroy and City Council <br /> FROM: Ryan McCrady, City Manager <br /> Wendy Morthland, Corporation Counsel <br /> Mike Frazier, Assistant Corporation Counsel <br /> SUBJECT: Amendment to Zoning Ordinance and Ch. 29 Administrative Adjudication of Offenses <br /> SUMMARY RECCOMENDATION: The City's Legal Department proposes increasing the <br /> minimum fines for violations of the COrdinancertys Zoning from $25 to $150. The proposed <br /> fines are in line with minimum fines for housing and nuisance cases prosecuted in ACES <br /> (Administrative Code Enforcement System). <br /> The City also proposes to include zoning violations in the Table of Offenses of Chapter 29. <br /> This section outlines the violations prosecuted in ACES and the fines associated with the violations. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTIONS: There are no known or expected objections. <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: None <br /> STAFF REFERENCE: Mike Frazier, Assistant Corporation Counsel, at 424-2807. <br /> BUDGET/TIME IMPLICATIONS: None <br /> cc: John Robinson <br /> Amy Waks <br />
