Project Description
This year's Street Restoration Project is focused on restoring the pavement on major downtown
streets affected by the recent downtown streetscape projects and reconstructing some residential
streets that can no longer be maintained through mill and overlay work. Portions of Downtown
Decatur and a portion of Garfield Avenue will receive a mill and overlay treatment, which
involves milling off a portion of the surface and overlaying the milled surface with new asphalt.
Maple Court, Graceland Court and Ridge Drive are scheduled to be fully reconstructed, which
involves removing all of the existing pavement, stabilizing the road bed by mixing in cement and
then overlaying the road with asphalt. This year's program will work on approximately 2
centerline miles of streets in the City, as listed in the following table:
Street From To
W. Wood Street S. Church Street S.
