Anderson Plaza, <br /> Decatur, Illinois, 62523, until 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 24, 2013, and thereafter publicly opened <br /> and read. <br /> A pre-bid meeting will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, May 2, 2013, at the South Water <br /> Treatment Plant, Decatur, IL. Attendance is not mandatory. No interpretation of the bid <br /> documents will be made by the City or the Engineer after the pre-bid meeting. <br /> DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT: <br /> The proposed improvement is officially known as: <br /> LAKE DECATUR DAM REPAIRS <br /> CITY PROJECT 2012-25 <br /> The proposed project herein specified and described includes the following work: <br /> This work shall consist of.- <br /> ■ Concrete repairs and crack injection on the downstream face of the <br /> spillway and areas of north access platform. <br /> ■ Concrete repairs and railing replacement at the sluice gate access <br /> platform on the spillway. <br /> ■ Fabricate and install a fish diversion screen on the crest of the <br /> concrete spillway bascule gate section. Screen is composed of <br /> structural steel and metal bar grating. This work shall be completed <br /> by October 31, 2013. <br /> ■ Riprap protection of the river bed below the spillway. Includes <br /> partial infill and armoring of existing streambed scour. <br /> ■ Relocation of existing ductile iron force mains exposed in the river <br /> bed by boring and jacking new HDPE pipe below the river bed. <br /> Includes connection of HDPE pipe to existing service on both sides <br /> of the river, and removal of the existing ductile iron pipe. <br /> ■ Demolition of an existing pile supported, concrete spillway located <br /> approximately 1,200 feet downstream of the Lake Decatur Dam on <br /> the Sangamon River. Includes channel restoration and armoring of <br /> existing streambed scour with riprap and concrete rubble from the <br /> spillway demolition. <br /> ■ Cleaning and sealing of any cracks, cleaning and replacing joints, <br /> and the replacement of concrete panels on the upstream left and <br /> right slope protection embankments. <br /> 3 <br />
