Marley, P.E., Director of Public Works <br /> SUBJECT: Resolution Approving Change Order#2 to the Agreement with URS <br /> Corporation for Preliminary Design of the Brush College Road Norfolk <br /> Southern Railroad Crossing, City Project 2009-33 <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: <br /> It is recommended that the City Council approve the attached resolution authorizing the Mayor to <br /> sign and the City Clerk to attest Change Order#2 to City Project 2009-33, Brush College Road at <br /> Norfolk Southern Crossing Preliminary Design, which provides additional funding in the amount <br /> of$39,988 for the preliminary design of the intersection of Faries Parkway and Brush College <br /> Road, for a total project cost of$1,438,702.35; and <br /> It is also recommended by staff that the City Council approve the attached Resolution authorizing <br /> the mayor to sign and the City Clerk to attest an Amendment to the Local Agency/ State <br /> Agreement with the Illinois Department of Transportation(IDOT)to fund the preliminary <br /> engineering work for the Brush College Subway Improvement at a cost not to exceed $1,466,000. <br /> PRIOR COUNCIL ACTION <br /> • July 6, 2010—The City Council approved resolution R2010-140, authorizing an <br /> Agreement with URS Corporation for Engineering Design Services for the Brush College <br /> Road Underpass (Subway) Study(CP 09-33). <br /> • May 16, 2011 —The City Council met in Study Session to hear a report of the progress of <br /> the Brush College Road Study. <br /> • November 7, 2011 -The City Council approved resolution R2011-175, authorizing <br /> Change Order#1 with Engineering Design Services for the Brush College Road Underpass <br /> (Subway) Study(CP 09-33) <br /> • November 21, 2011 -The City Council approved resolution R2011-177, authorizing an <br /> Agreement with Norfolk Southern Railway Company for preliminary engineering services <br /> for the Brush College Road Project. <br /> • December 19, 2011 -The City Council approved resolution R2011-198, authorizing <br /> Amendment #1 to the Local Agency/ State Agreement with the Illinois Department of <br /> Transportation. <br /> Page I 1 <br />
