<br /> SUBJECT: Lake Shore Drive Sewer Rehabilitation Project
<br /> City Project 2012-06
<br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION:
<br /> It is recommended by staff that the City Council approve, that the Mayor be authorized to
<br /> execute the contracts, and the City Clerk to attest to the attached resolutions:
<br /> 1. Resolution awarding a contract for the rehabilitation of a segment of the Lake Shore
<br /> Drive Sewer extending from 16`" Street to Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive along Lake
<br /> Shore Drive (see attached map), known as Division A, to SAK Construction, LLC, as the
<br /> lowest, responsible bidder in the amount of$4,177,792. The Resolution also authorizes
<br /> an expenditure of up to 3%, or$125,333.76, which is the amount the IEPA allows for
<br /> project contingencies, for a total authorized expenditure of$4,303,125.76 for Division A
<br /> of the Lake Shore Drive Sewer Rehabilitation Project. This project will use spiral wound
<br /> pipe lining.
<br /> 2. Resolution awarding a contract for the rehabilitation of two segments of the Lake Shore
<br /> Drive Sewer (1) extending from Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive to Silas/Rogers and (2)
<br /> extending from 16thNanderhoof to 19`x'/Decatur(see map), known as Division B, to
<br /> Insituform Technologies USA, LLC, as the lowest, responsible bidder in the amount of
<br /> $1,348,734.25. The Resolution also authorizes an expenditure of up to 3%, or
<br /> $40,462.03, which is the amount the IEPA allows for project contingencies, for a total
<br /> authorized expenditure of$1,389,196.28 for Division B of the Lake Shore Drive Sewer
<br /> Rehabilitation Project. This project will use cured-in-place pipe lining.
<br /> 3. Resolution awarding a contract for the rehabilitation of a segment of the Lake Shore
<br /> Drive Sewer extending from 16th/Lake Shore Drive to 25d`/Eldorado (see map), known as
<br /> Division C, to Insituform Technologies USA, LLC, as the lowest, responsible bidder in
<br /> the amount of$1,923,257.50. The Resolution also authorizes an expenditure of up to
<br /> 3%, or$57,697.73, which is the amount the IEPA allows for project contingencies, for a
<br /> total authorized expenditure of$1,980,955.22 for Division C of the Lake Shore Drive
<br /> Sewer Rehabilitation Project. This project will use cured-in-place pipe lining.
