(c). Special Operations Hireback List: <br /> (1) The Chief of Police or his designee shall establish a "Hireback Work List" for all <br /> officers who wish to participate in departmental authorized special operations. All officers <br /> certified for solo patrol duties shall be eligible for assignment to the work list. <br /> (2) The Chief of Police or his designee shall post notice for the establishment of the <br /> hireback work list. Officers interested in working these assignments are required to make a <br /> written request to the Chief of Police or his designee. The list will be good for a period of one (1) <br /> year from the date of posting. Assignments from this work list shall be made at the discretion of <br /> the operation coordinator(s) and based on the officer's suitability for the specific assignment; <br /> suitability shall be determined by the performance of said employee during one or more previous <br /> such assignments. Officers may, after making written request, be added to the list at any time <br /> while the list is in effect. After one year without selection for an assignment, or upon being <br /> informed by an operations coordinator that he/she is not suitable for further assignment, an <br /> employee may request a conference with the Chief of Police and the union president and seek an <br /> explanation. The Chief shall meet with the officer involved and the union president within a <br /> reasonable time following such request, but the Chief shall retain complete discretion to resolve <br /> the matter in the best interests of the Department and said officer's decision shall not be subject <br /> to arbitration. <br /> (3) Emergency Response Team operations and general call outs of a shift or <br /> department level are exempt from overtime hire-back scheduling and shall be conducted at the <br /> discretion of the Chief of Police. <br /> ARTICLE 6 <br /> SALARIES AND WAGES <br /> Section 1 (a). The salaries and wages set out in Exhibit A for the respective classified <br /> positions in the police service represented by the Union shall be effective May 1, 2012. <br /> (b). It is understood that employees who have retired after May 1, 2012 and before the <br /> effective date of this agreement shall be entitled to retroactive pay at the rates set out in Exhibit <br /> A. <br /> Section 2. The salaries and wages set out in Exhibit B for the respective classified <br /> positions in the police service represented by the Union shall be effective May 1, 2013. The <br /> salaries and wages set out in Exhibit C for the respective classified positions in the police service <br /> represented by the Union shall be effective May 1, 2014. <br /> Section 3. Those employees in the police service who have occupied position <br /> classifications as set out in Exhibit A for not less than five years shall receive longevity pay, in <br /> addition to the wages set out in said Exhibit A as provided in section 3 hereof, according to the <br /> following schedule: <br /> 8 <br />
