CONTRACT <br /> SECTION 20. No Parking Signs <br /> The Engineering Division of the City will erect "No Parking" signs 24 hours prior to the <br /> start of work on a street, in an attempt to have all vehicles removed from the street. The <br /> City will not be held responsible for any delays due to the City having to have parked <br /> vehicles moved. The Contractor shall furnish the Engineer with suitable hardwood quality <br /> lath(drawing contained in these specifications) and a suitable quality and quantity of paint <br /> to erect "No Parking" signs, and to mark utilities. This cost will be considered incidental <br /> to the contract. <br /> SECTION 21. Permits <br /> It is the Contractor's responsibility to obtain all necessary permits. Any costs incurred in <br /> obtaining these permits are to be incidental to the related contract item. Permit fees will be <br /> waived for those permits issued by the City of Decatur. <br /> The City of Decatur has obtained all permits required to pump the water and to install the <br /> temporary pipeline <br /> SECTION 22. Photographs Of Existing Conditions <br /> The Contractor shall provide VHS or Digital video of existing facilities along the route or <br /> area of all construction, prior to the start of such construction. Construction of this facility <br /> will generally be along street right-of-way containing trees, bushes, fences, driveways and <br /> similar items. Special attention shall be given to coverage of the entire easement and <br /> immediate adjacent areas which might be disturbed during construction. <br /> The videotapes shall be adequate to serve as a basis for comparison in determining whether <br /> the terms of the specifications with respect to replacements, restoration and/or preservation <br /> of existing surfaces have been complied with. One print of the videotape taken shall be <br /> given to the Engineer for his files. The cost for this item shall be included in the respective <br /> prices for the various items of work. <br /> SECTION 23. Prevailing Wage Rates <br /> The Contractor shall comply with all relevant provisions of the Illinois Prevailing Wage <br /> Act and any other local, state or federal laws pertaining to such. The Contractor shall also <br /> supply the Engineer with weekly certified copies of the payroll for both the Contractor and <br /> their subcontractors. The Engineer will monitor the payroll for compliance with the <br /> applicable "prevailing wage rates" as required. A copy of the City's Requirements under <br /> the Prevailing Wage Act are marked Exhibit D, attached hereto and incorporated by <br /> reference. <br /> SECTION 24. Project Maintenance <br /> Should the City become aware of an unsafe condition existing within the scope of this <br /> project, the City will attempt to contact the Contractor to resolve the unsafe condition. <br /> However, if the City is unable to contact the Contractor's designated representative or if the <br /> Contractor fails to respond within a reasonable period, the City will perform the necessary <br /> 7 <br />
