- 24 - <br /> ARTICLE XV <br /> SENIORITY <br /> Section 1 . Definition <br /> Seniority for full-time employees is defined as the <br /> employee' s total length of service with the Library since <br /> his/her most recent date of hire. Seniority for full-time <br /> employees is determined by their ranking on the civil <br /> service register when more than one individual begins <br /> employment in a classification on the same day. <br /> A terminated employee shall have his/her seniority <br /> restored if he/she is rehired within one (1) year from the <br /> date of his/her termination. <br /> Section 2 . Part-Time Employees <br /> Seniority for part-time employees shall be as defined in <br /> Section 1 above, except that seniority for part-time <br /> employees shall be one-half of the total length of service <br /> with the Library since his or her most recent date of hire. <br /> Section 3 . Application <br /> Seniority shall, for the purpose of layoff, recall and <br /> reinstatement, be as defined above.. <br /> ARTICLE XVI <br /> FILLING OF VACANCIES <br /> Section 1 . Posting <br /> All permanent bargaining unit vacancies and/or newly <br /> created bargaining unit positions shall be posted on a <br /> bulletin board for a period of one week. The posting shall <br /> state the position, the pay grade, the job description and <br /> the work location. Nothing herein prevents the Employer from <br /> temporarily assigning personnel to fill such vacancy and/or <br /> newly created bargaining unit positions while it is being <br /> posted and filled. <br />
