GENERAL CONDITIONS <br /> GC-4 CONTRACT WARRANTY <br /> The Contractor shall guarantee all materials and equipment furnished and work <br /> performed for a period of one (1) year from the date of substantial completion. The Contractor <br /> warrants and guarantees for a period of one (1) year from the date of substantial completion of <br /> the system that the completed system is free from all defects due to faulty materials or <br /> workmanship and the Contractor shall promptly make such corrections as may be necessary by <br /> reason of such defects, including the repairs of any damage to other parts of the system resulting <br /> from such defects. The Owner will give notice of observed defects with reasonable promptness. <br /> In the event that the Contractor should fail to make such repairs, adjustments or other work that <br /> may be made necessary by such defects, the Owner may do so and charge the Contractor the cost <br /> thereby incurred. The Contract Bond shall remain in full force and effect through the guarantee <br /> period. <br /> GC-5 CONTRACTOR AVAILABILITY <br /> At all times when work is being performed (by Contractor himself or subcontractor), the <br /> prime Contractor shall have on the job site someone in their direct employ who is capable of <br /> meeting with the Engineer and making decisions. If authorized by the Engineer, this condition <br /> may be satisfied by having a telephone number or someone who satisfies the above <br /> requirements. <br /> GC-6 COORDINATION <br /> Cooperation between the Contractor, City and Property Owners is imperative. The <br /> responsibility and cost to maintain access is borne by the Contractor. The costs for temporary <br /> walks and driveways if necessary are to be incidental to the related bid items unless specifically <br /> paid as a separate item. <br /> GC-7 DUST CONTROL <br /> As apart of their construction obligation, the Contractor shall make eve reasonable <br /> p g every <br /> effort to control dust throughout the construction area. Dirt, sand or other materials scattered <br /> over traveled areas shall be disposed of by sweeping, flushing or other appropriate measure. <br /> Temporary surfacing shall be continually maintained to avoid loose materials or dust pockets. <br /> GC-8 ESTIMATED QUANTITIES AND LOCATION CHANGES <br /> The quantities for this job are estimates only. These estimated quantities are used for <br /> establishing unit prices. The City reserves the right to increase, decrease, or omit any of the <br /> estimated quantities in this project. No additional compensation will be allowed for these <br /> changes. <br /> 26 <br />
