Mr. Matthew Beck
December 23,2003
Page 2
2. Landscaping.
A. At such time that ADM would improve the property, ADM further agrees to
provide screening, through berms and/or landscaping, etc., to maintain the greatest aesthetic
effect for the neighbors.
B. I also mentioned to you at such time as ADM makes any improvements to its
water treatment plant, we will also provide reasonable screening, through landscaping, at that
site.
3. Road. ADM has no plans to close the road that the neighbors use as an
1.. -r,<,.. Greenspace. Where the neighbors' property adjoins ADM,we will observe a 100
foot green space in perpetuity. (At one portion around the lake, it would actually be less than
100 feet since I do not believe there is 100 feet between your properties and the lake.)
5. Water. ADM will continue with its efforts to influence the City and Park District
to provide the neighbors with water in the future.
Matt, I know the neighbors will not be entirely happy with the fact that ADM will not
agree to the process you outlined, however, we simply believe there are too many uncertainties
and contingencies which cannot be anticipated for that process to work. Please accept our pledge
to be a good neighbor and work with you in the future as something definitive.
Very truly yours,
A.
