Excerpts from Plan Commission Minutes of June 7, 2012 continued:
Mr. Phil Cochran stated in 2009 this B-3 Planned Shopping Center District was created. Any
time a change is made in this type of district it must come back to the Plan Commission for
approval. This request is to amend the plan to allow a drive-up window and reduce the number
of parking spaces.
Mr. Frantz asked why five (5) stacking spaces are requested instead of ten (10). Mr. Cochran
stated the specific user knows that five (5) spaces will be more than adequate. He said that four
(4) spaces were originally requested and then staff came back and said they were more
comfortable with five (5) spaces.
Mr. Bob Kralicek was sworn in by Mrs. Poland.
Mr. Kralicek stated he was with NPC International and Pizza Hut is the intended use for this end
cap position. He stated this is basically a pick up station. There is no ordering at the
establishment so basically people are just picking up their pizza. If it is not ready when they
come they are asked to pull up and someone runs the pizza out to them when it is ready. Three
(3) cars are usually seen in the stacking spaces, so five (5) spaces will be more than adequate.
The intent is to get the vehicles through as soon as possible.
There were no objectors present.
It was moved and seconded (Myatt/John) to forward Cal. No. 12-17 to the City Council with
recommendation for approval as presented by staff. Motion carried unanimously.
