McCrady, City Manager <br /> Ron Neufeld, Finance Director <br /> SUBJECT: Supplemental Appropriations for Fiscal Year 2011-2012 <br /> Attached are nine supplemental appropriations for fiscal year 2011-2012, for funding <br /> received or required after passage of the Appropriation Ordinance, approved July 18, <br /> 2011. End of year supplemental appropriations are necessary to take care of many issues <br /> that cannot be foreseen. <br /> • General Fund - Fund 10 — This ordinance appropriates an additional $25,000 to <br /> Human Resources, $8,000 to the Finance Department, $10,000 to Water <br /> Customer Services, $34,000 to Neighborhood Services and $52,500 to the Fire <br /> Department. Non-Departmental has been reduced by the same amount and the <br /> net increase to the General Fund is zero. <br /> • Eastgate TIF Fund—Fund 23 — This ordinance appropriates $5,200 to cover the <br /> additional revenues generated within the Eastgate TIF and subsequent payment <br /> to the developer. <br /> • Drug Enforcement — Fund 25 — This ordinance appropriates an additional <br /> $90,000 for operating expenses in the Drug Enforcement Fund to cover Sungard <br /> software and other unexpected Federal and State drug related expenses. These <br /> additional expenses are covered by increased revenues, expected to exceed the <br /> budget by about $130,000. <br /> • Communications — Fund 30 — This ordinance appropriates an additional <br /> $342,300 for operating expenses, resulting from the purchase of four Motorola <br /> Digital Radio Consoles as well as increases to maintain Starcom radios. We <br /> received a grant from the Illinois Emergency Management Agency, in the <br /> amount of$339,038 and a local match from the Emergency Telephone Services <br /> Board (ESTB) in the amount of$67,808 to cover the entire cost of the consoles. <br /> • Fire Programs — Fund 31 — This ordinance appropriates $55,400 to cover <br /> unexpected cost of retrofitting the self contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) <br /> with funding to come from fund balance. <br />
