r <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 2011-73 <br /> ORDINANCE AMENDING CITY CODE <br /> - CHAPTER 64—WATER SERVICE- <br /> - CHAPTER 65—WATER MAIN CONNECTION CHARGES - <br /> BE IT ORDAINED, BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF DECATUR, <br /> ILLINOIS: <br /> Section 1. That Sections 23 and 25 of Chapter 64 of the City of Decatur City Code be, <br /> and the same are hereby, modified and amended so that said sections as so amended shall <br /> provide as follows: <br /> 64. WATER SERVICE <br /> 23. PENALTY. No person shall connect or cause the connection of a water <br /> service to the water system of the City except as provided by the City Code. No <br /> person shall restore water service from the water system of the City after such <br /> service has been turned off by the Department of Water Management without first <br /> obtaining written permission from the City to do so. No person shall resell water <br /> furnished through a water service from the water system of the City except upon <br /> express contract in writing approved by the City Council. No person other than an <br /> authorized employee of the City or an authorized permittee of the City shall open, <br /> take water from, or interfere with City fire hydrants. No person shall use or consume <br /> water in violation of any duly authorized rule or regulation established pursuant to <br /> Section 22 hereof. Any person, firm or corporation who shall violate any provision <br /> of this section shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and shall be fined not less than Two <br /> Hundred Fifty Dollars ($250.00) nor more than One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00) <br /> and each day upon which a continuing violation occurs shall be viewed as a separate <br /> offense. In addition thereto any person, firm or corporation who shall violate this <br /> section, or found to be in violation of any of the other provisions of this Chapter, or <br /> any regulation duly established hereunder, may, by such violation, be deemed to <br /> have forfeited the privilege or right, as the case may be, of being furnished water <br /> from the water system of the City, and any and all water service of such person may <br />
