be shut off or disconnected from said water system. The City may also institute any <br /> other action provided by law for the recovery of the value of any water appropriated <br /> from the City water system in violation of any provision of this Chapter. <br /> 25. TAMPERING WITH WATER INFRASTRUCTURE. Any person who <br /> tampers, injures, alters, obstructs, prevents the action of, or breaks the seal on any <br /> City water infrastructure component, including, but not limited to water meters and <br /> their accessories, curb stops, water mains, water valves, air release valves, hydrants, <br /> storage reservoirs, elevated tanks and treatment facilities served by the City without <br /> the permission of the City, or who, without such permission, by-passes or jumps a <br /> water infrastructure component shall be fined not less than Five Hundred Dollars <br /> ($500.00) nor more than One Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($1,500.00) for each <br /> offense and each day upon which a continuing violation occurs shall be viewed as a <br /> separate offense. Said violation is grounds for the termination of water service to <br /> that meter and to any other water service carried in the name of the person, firm or <br /> corporation. <br /> Section 2. That Chapter 65 of the City of Decatur City Code be, and the same is hereby, <br /> modified and amended by adding a new Section 8 thereto. Said new Section 8 to provide as <br /> follows: <br /> 8. PENALTY. Any person, firm or corporation who violates any of the <br /> provisions of this Chapter shall be fined not less than One Hundred Fifty Dollars <br /> ($150.00) nor more than Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) for each offense and each <br /> day upon which a violation occurs or continues shall constitute a separate offense. <br /> Section 3.
