On August 7, 2008 the City Plan Commission voted 8-0 to approve the rezoning from R-1 and R- <br /> 2 Single Family Residence District to PD Planned Development District. The petition was <br /> approved by City Council by a 7-0 vote on August 18, 2011. <br /> 2. The petitioner proposed to rezone to PD to allow for additional parking as well as mixed use on <br /> the site. The mixed use consisted of a Place of Worship, a Coffee Shop located in the Church, <br /> and a residential structure/use on premise. <br /> PROJECT DESCRIPTION <br /> 1. The petitioner proposes to amend their PD in order to add a sign with an electronic message unit <br /> (EMU). The sign will be a monument style with stone covering the structure. The new sign will <br /> be 45.25 square feet in total area. The EMU will be two (2) feet five (5) inches in height and <br /> seven (7) feet three (3) inches in width (17.55 square feet). The sign will be nine (9) feet seven <br /> (7) inches in height. <br /> 2. The petitioner requests that the new sign be located on the existing sign structure. The sign will <br /> then be 80 feet from the residential district to the west and only eight (8) feet from the west <br /> property line. The Zoning Ordinance requires a 100 foot setback from a residential district and a <br /> ten(10) foot setback from property lines. <br />
