<br /> DWELLING, TWO FAMILY: A single, freestanding conventional building containing two (2)
<br /> dwelling units.
<br /> DRIVEWAY: A private roadway providing access to a street or highway.
<br /> ESSENTIAL SERVICES: The erection, construction, alteration, or maintenance (by a public or
<br /> private utility company for the purpose of furnishing adequate service by said company for
<br /> the public health, safety, or general welfare) of electrical and communication cables,poles
<br /> and wires, and water and sewer collection, transmission and distribution mains, drains, and
<br /> pipes, including fire hydrants. This definition does not include wireless telecommunications
<br /> facilities as regulated by this Ordinance.
<br /> EXTRACTION USES: Uses that require the alteration of the surface of the earth, including the
<br /> excavation, removal, stripping, surface mining, or quarrying of top soil, soil, earth, sand,
<br /> rock, gravel, clay, coal, minerals, ores, or similar substances; or the surface location of shafts,
<br /> mine heads, and similar facilities for the subsurface removal of such substances; or the
<br /> drilling for or production of, oil, gas, or other liquid gaseous substances.
<br /> FABRICATION, COMMERCIAL: The production, compounding, processing,packaging, or
<br /> treatment of goods, materials, or products which are dependent upon a downtown or similar
<br /> commercial site. These products include candy, cosmetics, confections, toiletries, and food
<br /> products, except fish, poultry, and meat products, sauerkraut, vinegar, yeast, and the
<br /> rendering of fats or oils. Products may be crafted from previously prepared materials
<br /> including bone, canvas, cellophane, cloth, cork, feathers, felt, fiber, fur, glass, hair, horn,
<br /> leather, paper, plastics,precious-or semi-precious metals or stone, shells, wax, wire, yarns,
<br /> and the like. Musical instruments, toys, greeting cards, novelties, rubber or metal stamps, or
<br /> other small molded rubber products are included in this definition.
<br /> FALL ZONE: A radius equal to or greater than one-half the height of the telecommunications
<br /> tower, within which falling snow or ice may cause a hazard.
<br /> FAMILY: Either: (a)Two or more persons, all of whom are related to each other by blood,
<br /> marriage, or adoption, together with usual domestic servants and not more than one boarder
<br /> or lodger, all living together as a single housekeeping unit and using common kitchen
<br /> facilities; or(b)Eight or fewer persons, any or all of whom are not related to each of the
<br /> others by blood, marriage, or adoption, all living together as a single housekeeping unit and
<br /> using common kitchen facilities. For purposes of this Zoning Ordinance,however, an
<br /> unrelated family shall not include persons living together in a Residential Care facility,
<br /> Intermediate or Long Term Care facility, Foster Home, Congregate Elderly Housing; or in a
<br /> club, convent, dormitory, fraternity,monastery, or sorority.
<br /> FAMILY RESIDENTIAL CARE FACILITY: A residence designed and operated to
<br /> accommodate overnight and short-term stays, comfort and relief for physical and emotional
<br /> needs of no more than six (6) families who have other family members who are patients at
<br /> nearby hospitals and similar medical facilities..
<br /> FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS AND SERVICES: Establishments that trade cash, securities, and
<br /> other negotiable instruments. Examples of these institutions include commercial, savings,
<br /> and investment banks; credit unions and savings and loan establishments; securities dealers
<br /> and brokers; commodity dealers and traders; holding companies and trust companies; and
