Eastgate Plaza
Page two
February 27, 2011
from Blackstone Group of Decatur LLC. Adding this parcel to the Zone will allow Blackstone to
access certain state tax credits and exemptions. DMH currently employs 15 people in the facility
and those jobs will be retained.
3) The final parcel we are requesting to be added is Lot 5 of Eastgate Plaza. Consisting of 1.58
acres(Property Number 09-13-20-452-013),the property is being proposed to a confidential
client by the Blackstone Group for future development. The developer has requested inclusion
into the Enterprise Zone in order to make the property more cost competitive with other
location options. Job and investment numbers are not known at this time.
Your requested approval of our request is part of a multi—step process which includes a public hearing,
approval of the Enterprise Zone Advisory Board, and the full Macon County Board as well as the Illinois
Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity and the Illinois Department of Agriculture.
The public hearing was completed on February 10, 2011 and no objections were received. The
Enterprise Zone Advisory Board has approved the project as has the Macon County Board EEHW
Committee.
Thank you for your consideration of our request.
JCC/hs
attachment
