Marley, P.E., Public Works Director <br /> SUBJECT: Ordinance Authorizing the Installation of a Handicap Parking Space in <br /> Front of 36 North Drive. <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: <br /> Staff recommends the approval of the attached Ordinance authorizing the installation of a <br /> handicapped parking space in front of 36 North Drive as recommended by the Traffic and <br /> Parking Commission: <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> At its regular meeting held on December 14, 2010, the Traffic and Parking Commission, voted to <br /> recommend the installation of a handicapped parking space on the street in front of 36 North <br /> Drive. This was requested by Mr. Ron Middleton, who resides at the address. Parking <br /> congestion on North Drive makes it hard for Mr. Middleton to back out of his driveway and he is <br /> unable to use the driveway regularly. <br /> The Commission voted to recommend the installation of a handicap parking space in front of 36 <br /> North Drive at the request of Mr. Middleton. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTION; No objections anticipated. <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: Traffic and Parking Commission <br /> STAFF REFERENCE: Richard Marley, Public Works Director, at 424- <br /> 2747 <br /> Matt Newell, City Engineer, at 424-2747 <br /> Richard Marley, Public Works Director, will be in attendance at the City Council meeting to <br /> answer any questions of the Council on this item. <br /> Page I 1 <br />
