Marley, P.E., Public Works Director <br /> SUBJECT: Ordinances Authorizing the Installation of Stop Signs at the Intersections of <br /> Church Street and North Street and Moore Street and 17th Street <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: <br /> Staff recommends the approval of the attached Ordinances authorizing traffic control changes at <br /> the following intersection: <br /> 1. The installation of an all-way stop at the intersection of Church Street and North Street. <br /> 2. The installation of stop signs at the intersection of Moore Street and 17th Street facing <br /> Moore Street. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> Prior Council Action <br /> There has been no previous Council action on these items. <br /> Church Street and North Street <br /> At the June 8, 2010, meeting of the Traffic &Parking Commission, the Commission approved a <br /> request from City staff recommending that an all way stop be installed at the intersection of <br /> Church Street and North Street. The all way stop was requested as a result of an accident review <br /> performed by City Engineering that determined this location has a high number of accidents and <br /> poor sight distance present. <br /> Moore Street and 17th Street <br /> At the June 8, 2010, meeting of the Traffic & Parking Commission, the Commission approved a <br /> request from City staff recommending that stop signs be installed at the intersection of Moore <br /> Street and 17th Street facing Moore Street. The stop signs were requested as a result of an <br /> accident review performed by City Engineering that determined this location has a high number <br /> of accidents and poor sight distance present. <br /> Excerpts of the minutes of the June Traffic and Parking Commission meeting are attached with <br /> the ordinance for Council's review. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTION; No objections anticipated. <br /> Page I 1 <br />
