t' <br /> cleanup costs and nuisances that can be associated with high numbers of birds flocking or <br /> roosting in the area. <br /> City Staff has met with Mr. James Soules to discuss a new agreement for these services. <br /> A new 3-year agreement (copy attached) has been prepared by staff and Mr. Soules for <br /> Council review and approval. The new Agreement will begin October 1, 2011, and <br /> extend through September 30, 2014. The boundaries of the downtown area remain as per <br /> the previous agreement. <br /> Payment is made annually for the year beginning October 1 and ending on September 30 <br /> of the following year. The fee for the first year of the contract is $17,000, $17,500 for the <br /> second year and $18,000 for the third year. The agreement for this past year was <br /> $16,000. <br /> This agreement is administered by the City's Public Works Department. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTIONS: There are no known objections to this <br /> resolution. <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: None. <br /> STAFF REFERENCE: <br /> Richard Marley, Public Works Director and Randy Callison, City Forester. Richard Marley <br /> will be in attendance at the City Council meeting to answer any questions of the Council on <br /> this item. <br /> BUDGET/TIME IMPLICATIONS: <br /> The funds for the first year of the new agreement are budgeted in the City's General Fund. <br /> Funds for the remaining two years of the agreement will have to be budgeted in the City's <br /> annual budgeting process for each year and approved by City Council. <br /> This memo was prepared by Randy Callison, City Forester. <br /> Attach: 2 <br />
