Drive has the highest repair rate for the neighborhood and is the highest priority. The old 6" main will be replaced with a 12" main for better flow and more reliable service. The larger main will be extended in future water main replacement projects to replace the old looped system which currently consists of smaller 6"water mains. Placing a larger main as the backbone of the looped system will provide the area with higher water pressure, higher capacity and better reliability. Bidding The project plans and specifications were prepared by Engineering Division staff. The project was advertised on Wednesday, August 10, 2011, and bids were opened on Friday, August 26, 2011. Staff recommends that the City Council approve a contract with Barr&Robison Sewer &Excavating, Inc., to perform the Annual Water Main Replacement Project. POTENTIAL OBJECTION: There are no known objections to this resolution and bid award.
