Routine inspections of two of the City's bridges
identified the need for structural repairs.
Country Club Bridge over Lake Decatur
The most recent inspection determined that significant corrosion was present at the south ends of
the two outside beams. City staff requested that Homer L. Chastain&Associates (HLC) perform a
review of the structure and recommend repair options. Follow-up inspections were also performed
by the Illinois Department of Transportation(IDOT)to determine if load restrictions were
necessary. IDOT requested that temporary shoring be placed under the bridge and that repairs be
planned for the near future.
The report submitted by HLC recommended the installation of metal plates to repair the beams.
Ther airs are straight forward and should be able to be completed this year.
 g p Y
Page I 1
