Proposal R1-10-215 <br /> Dear Mr. Newell: <br /> The following will comprise our proposal for continued engineering services for the rehabilitation of the <br /> City parking structures; specifically for the preparation of construction documents and related services <br /> for the priority repairs to Parking Garages B &C scheduled for the 2011 construction season. <br /> PROJECT UNDERSTANDING <br /> Carl Walker, Inc. conducted a condition assessment of the City's parking structures, resulting in a <br /> Parking Garage Condition Appraisal Report dated December 2009. The City of Decatur intends to <br /> proceed with a repair project to be completed in 2011 that will implement the recommended repairs in <br /> Garages B & C. The total project cost including contingency is anticipated to be in the range of $2.1 <br /> million. <br /> PROJECT APPROACH <br /> We propose an established project approach for the restoration of the City of Decatur Parking <br /> Garages.This approach is broken down into three phases: <br /> (1) Construction Document Phase <br /> (2) Bidding Phase <br /> (3) Construction Administration Phase <br /> Construction Document Phase <br /> During this phase, we will prepare the construction documents, including drawings and specifications, <br /> for use in competitive bidding, permitting, and construction. The Construction Documents will be based <br /> on the agreed-upon project scope, phasing, and budget objectives.
