- 7 - <br /> ARTICLE IV <br /> NON-DISCRIMINATION <br /> Section 1 . Prohibition Against Discrimination <br /> Both the Employer and the Union agree not to <br /> discriminate against any employee on the basis of race, <br /> color, religion, political affiliation, sex, national origin, <br /> ancestry, age, marital status and physical and/or mental <br /> disability or sexual orientation. <br /> Section 2 . Union Activity <br /> The Union and the Employer agree that no employee <br /> shall be discriminated against, intimidated, restrained, or <br /> coerced in the exercise of any rights under the Illinois <br /> Public Labor Relations Act, or under this Agreement, or on <br /> account of membership or nonmembership in the Union. <br /> ARTICLE V <br /> DUES CHECK-OFF <br /> The Employer agrees to deduct from the pay of those <br /> employees who individually request one or more of the <br /> following: <br /> 1 . Union membership dues, assessments or fees; <br /> 2 . P. E.O. P.L.E. contributions; <br /> 3 . Earthmover Credit Union. <br /> Upon authorization by an employee filed with the Director <br /> of Finance for the City of Decatur, Illinois, the Employer <br /> shall deduct from the wages or salary of such employee such <br /> sums as are certified by the Treasurer of the Union or the <br /> employee, which sums so deducted shall be delivered to Council <br /> 31 or the Earthmover Credit Union on or before the 15th day of <br /> the month next succeeding the month in which such deductions <br /> are made. If any employee does not have a check coming to him, <br /> or such check is not large enough to satisfy said deductions, <br /> no deductions shall be made from the wages or salary of such <br /> employee for that month. <br />
