Anderson Plaza <br /> Decatur,IL 62523 <br /> RE: Arrangement letter for Design of Transfer House Eachibits <br /> Dear Mayor McElroy, <br /> We are pleased to confirm The Iona Group's(Iona)arrangement to work with the City of Decatur <br /> (Decatur)on the definition and design of an interactive presentation that conveys key concepts related to <br /> the history of Decatur and related topics.The primary initial focus will be the Transfer House and the role <br /> it played in Decatur's past. Other topics may be included as interpretive planning research is conducted. <br /> Under this arrangement,the first two phases of work,the Definition phase and the Design phase will be <br /> undertaken.This approach will allow for the investment for this effort to be divided into two discrete <br /> parts and for the work to be completed in an efficient and effective manner. <br /> This arrangement letter provides details regarding the work that Iona is being asked to carry out in <br /> partnership with key Decatur subject matter experts.This letter outlines our understanding of the project's <br /> scope along with the schedule and associated fees. <br /> Background <br /> In May 2010,The Iona Group met with Greg Crowe and Billy Tyus to discuss new media strategy for the <br /> Transfer House. During that discussion and subsequent sessions,there were a number of key objectives <br /> that were shared with Iona regarding future marketing and communication objectives for the Transfer <br /> House.These discussions centered on how best to achieve the learning and entertainment objectives for <br /> this space. Decatur has the opportunity to play a leadership role in historical education in the Decatur <br /> community.The Transfer House,and associated interactive experiences,will play a vital and anchoring <br /> role in that leadership function.This document defines the plan for implementing the goals that Decatur <br /> has identified for the Transfer House building.These goals include the following: <br /> • To find an innovative use for the Transfer House which ties into tourism for Decatur,preserves <br /> the buildings historic architecture and maintains it as a public use building. <br /> • A starting point for tourism in Downtown Decatur and Macon County. <br /> • Highlight historic Lincoln sites and events in Decatur(potential goal) <br /> � Highlight Decatur's Agri-business(potential goal) <br /> Based on the identified goals,Iona,working in conjunction with Billy Tyus and Greg Crowe,will <br /> develop an overall plan for developing and delivering the elements needed to attain the desired objectives. <br />
