■ -smaking conoections
Iona's experience and expertise will allow the desired messages to reach the target audiences with the
intent of"Wow."
Proposal
The Transfer House story has the potential to be developed into a very immersive experience. Designing
and developing a highly professional presentation will:
• Create a very immersive look and feel that will attract new audiences.
• Develop specific visual and narrative story lines that will increase the impact and retention of key
messages that are identified in the design phase. These segments will dramatically achieve the
cognitive and affective goals that are established for the presentation.
• Allow greater development of the Decatur history connection.
• Provide a new tool that can be used in attracting visitors.
• Use sophisticated and immersive presentation strategies to positively position Decatur.
The Iona work effort will utilize the Iona 4D phased methodology for completing projects. This proposal
covers the initial Define and Design phases of the work effort. The Develop and Deliver phases of the 4D
methodology will be covered by a separate arrangement that will be developed at a later date. Iona will
work closely with Decatur to define the overall work that is desired and then determine how best to meet
the creative and financial goals that are deternuned.
Scone of Work
This section describes the approach that will be used to complete this project as well as a detailed
description of the final presentation being produced. The approach includes the tasks necessary to
produce the Transfer House interactive as well as any interim deliverables created throughout the process.
The 4D Approach
To complete the Transfer House interactive presentation development on target,on time and on budget,
The Iona Group will utilize the 4D approach. A complete, detailed description of the 4D approach
appears in Appendix A of the separate Decatur Transfer House Proposal document.
The Iona Group's 4D approach is time-tested and has been used successfully on Iona's many different
projects. The phases and key steps are outlined in this section. The Iona Group has used this approach for
years in developing many different types of video and interactive deliverables and indeed to successfully
deliver projects of all sizes and scope. This process provides an overall framework by which projects are
estimated,planned and executed.
The 4Ds refer to the phases of a project that result in the incremental building of an end product that
meets the success criteria. The 4Ds are Define,Design,Develop and Deliver. As projects are being
discussed and the objectives are framed up,we work with the client to understand the specific objectives
and parameters of the project. Based on that common understanding,we will tailor the use of the 4D
Approach to the specific project. The 4D approach ensures that key deliverables are created, reviewed
and approved prior to leaving one phase and entering the next phase.
Decatur Transfer House Design Arrangement Letter -2- May 2010
