Marley, P.E., Director of Public Works <br /> SUBJECT: Brush College Road Pavement, <br /> City Project 2009-26, Section No. 09-00926-00-RS <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: <br /> It is recommended by staff that the City Council approve the attached Resolutions authorizing <br /> the Mayor to sign and the City Clerk to attest to the following items related to repairing the <br /> damaged pavement sections on Brush College Road between Illinois Route 105 (William Street) <br /> and Faries Parkway: <br /> 1. Resolution awarding the contract for Brush College Road Pavement, City Project 09-26, <br /> to Otto Baum Company, Inc., as the lowest, responsible bidder in the amount of <br /> $563,851. <br /> 2. Appropriation of$545,000 in Motor Fuel Tax (MFT) funds to pay project costs, which <br /> includes, $75,000 in additional City MFT funds and $470,000 in Emergency Repair <br /> Program(ERP) funds that will be paid to the City and deposited into the MFT Fund to <br /> pay for the project. This funding is in addition to $50,000 previously approved by the <br /> City Council for a total of$125,000 in City MFT funds and $470,000 in State ERP funds <br /> allocated to the project. The City MFT funds include$93,851 for the City's portion of <br /> project costs and $31,149 for contingencies. <br /> PRIOR COUNCIL ACTION: <br /> September 21, 2009 - Council approved Resolution R2009-183 appropriating $50,000 in Motor <br /> Fuel Tax funds for the Construction of Brush College Road Pavement. This work involves <br /> concrete pavement patching with some curb and gutter work along with storm drainage <br /> improvements. <br /> September 21, 2009 - Council approved Resolution R2009-184 authorizing a Supplemental <br /> Agreement with the State of Illinois for the Construction of Brush College Road Pavement. The <br /> Agreement provided $470,000 in Emergency Repair Program funds toward concrete pavement <br /> patching work to be completed on Brush College Road. <br /> Page � 1 <br />
