This combining of similar work allows the City to bid a larger project and <br /> secure better prices for the work. <br /> Public Letting Results <br /> The project specifications were prepared by Engineering Division staff. The project was advertised <br /> Wednesday, April 14, 2010, and bids were opened on Wednesday, May 5, 2010. ' <br /> Bidder Bid Price Over(-Under) <br /> Engineer's Estimate $614,350.00 ---- , <br /> Barr and Robison Sewer&Excavating, Inc. $597,105.00 (-2.81%) <br /> Burdick Plumbing &Heating Co. $602,575.00 (-1.92%) <br /> Barr and Robison Sewer &Excavating, Inc provided the lowest bid for the proposed work and has <br /> successfully completed many projects of this type for the City. Staff recommends that the City <br /> Council approve a contract with Barr and Robison Sewer& Excavating, Inc. to perform the 2010 <br /> Miscellaneous Storm and Sanitary Sewer Improvement Project. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTION: There are no known objections to this resolution. <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: None <br /> STAFF REFERENCE: Richard Marley, Director of Public Works and Matthew Newell, City <br /> Engineer. Richard Marley will be in attendance at the City Council meeting to answer any , <br /> questions of the Council on this item. � <br /> BUDGET/TIME IMPLICATIONS: <br /> Budget Impact: Funding for this project is currently allocated from the Sanitary Sewer Fund at <br /> $500,000 (sanitary sewer work) and the Capital Improvement Fund at $100,000(storm drainage <br /> work). The Sewer Fund is supported by sanitary sewer user fees, and the Capital Improvement <br /> Fund is supported by transfers from the General Fund. The total project cost is $597,105. <br /> Staff Impact: The Capital Improvement Plan has allocated staff time for this project.
