Attachment B: Optional Tasks
Optional Task 6.1:
Energy Consumption Map$1440
The Energy Consumption Map will aggregate energy consumption data from all sectors by census tract
and census block group to allow comparison of energy consumption across the city. Supportive text
would explain the map with an eye towards engaging elected officials, community leaders and the public.
This task will be completed by Center for Neighborhood Technology.
12 hours: $1440
Accepted by:

Lee Brown
President, Teska Associates, inc. City of Decatur
Date: 2/16/10 Date:
Optional Task 6.3:
Tax Assessor Database Analysis $8160 to$10,560
This analysis would use data from the tax assessor database for residential building demographics, in
particular square footage, and match them with specific account-level energy data (electricity and natural
gas)to compile a very detailed Energy Use Intensity Map that would result in a pictorial representation of
the intensity of energy consumption per square foot across the city. Because each individual property is
examined, the strength of the data provided is very important. Often times, assessor data is not complete
for each address, and as such, developing an intensity map is problematic. Data for commercial/
industrial (C&I) properties are often even more sporadic, so CNT would need to examine said data to
determine if such a C&I analysis could be done.
Data examination (to determine strength of data and resolve potential formatting issues, 8 hours: $960
Residential data analysis, 40 hours: $4800
C&I data analysis, 20 to 40 hours: $2400 to$4800
Optional Task 6.3 will be billed at an hourly rate of$120 per hour with a cap of$10,560. This task will be
completed by Center for Neighborhood Technology.
Accepted by:
._.
Lee Brown
President, Teska Associates, Inc.
