Irons, Director of Neigh orhood Services � <br /> Dave Griffiths, Neighborhood Inspections Administrator �� <br /> SUBJECT: Unsafe Structures <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: <br /> An item on the agenda for the meeting of February 16, 2010, is a resolution authorizing action regarding <br /> unsafe structures. This is the second step, after the posting of a structure as unfit, which initiates the <br /> demolition process. City staff recommends approval. <br /> 565 W. Division-NSI #200902684. This case was started on 10-21-09. Herman M. Guy is named as the <br /> owner in the case. The water service was terminated in luly of 2007 and the gas meter has been locked <br /> off. Eaves are rotted and falling off, a portion of the foundation is collapsing and the front porch is <br /> collapsing. The house was found to be standing open and abandoned. <br /> 1055 N. Dunham-NSI #200902776. This case was started on 11-2-09. HUD is named as the owner in the <br /> case. The water service was terminated in June of 2008 and the gas and electric meters have been <br /> locked off. The house was found to be standing open and abandoned and in a severe state of <br /> deterioration all around. The house has been partially stripped and vandalized, roof leaks are causing <br /> interior deterioration and ceiling collapse. This house has been the subject of numerous neighborhood <br /> complaints. <br /> 717 N. Edward-NSI #2010-00117. This case was started on 1-28-10. Nancy Callahan and Marine Bank of <br /> Springfield are named as the owners in the case. The water service was terminated in December of <br /> 1994 and the gas and electric meters have been removed. This house was found to be abandoned and <br /> in a severe state of deterioration all around. Eaves are rotted and falling off, the foundation is <br /> collapsing,there are open holes in the roof and the property is being used as a dumping ground. <br /> 1729 N. Edward-NSI #2009-02765. This case was started on 11-3-09. Shirley E. Hepperle and Judith K. <br /> Hall are named as the owners in the case. The water service was terminated in October of 1998,the gas <br /> meter has been removed and the electric meter has been locked off. The eaves are rotted and falling <br /> off, the foundation is deteriorated and roof leaks are causing extensive damage. The owner agrees the <br /> house needs to be demolished but lacks the funds to do it. <br />
