Thermal technology will provide an increased measure of public safety for our citizens
living in the Weed and Seed Neighborhoods and throughout the City. The thermal camera will be
used to locate suspects as well as lost/missing children and elderly individuals. Suspects hiding in
wooded areas, bushes, under porches, sheds, vehicles, etc.. will be easily and safely located using
this technology. The thermal camera will also provide the department with a reliable and time
saving method to locate the elderly and small children who are missing from their homes. The
camera can also take digital images and video to be used as an investigative tool during narcotics
and other criminal investigations.
ATTACHMENT: Summary of Bids for H-Series Thermal Camera
Specifications on the H-Series Thermal Camera
Short video on H-5eries Cameras:
http://www.flir.com/cvs/americas/en/lawenforcement/products/hseries/
POTENTIAL OBJECTION: None anticipated
STAFF REFERENCE: James A.Anderson,Chief of Police
424-2741 janderson(adecaturil.gov
James R.
