McCrady, City Manager
Keith D. Alexander, Director of Water Management
SUBJECT: Lake Decatur Basin 6 Dredging Bid Specifications Agreement Amendment
SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION:
Council adopt the attached Resolution authorizing an Amendment to the Professional Services Agreement
with H. L. Chastain & Associates (Chastain) for Lake Decatur Basin 6 Dredging Bid Specifications
Preparation at a cost not to exceed$5,501.
BACKGROUND:
On November 30 Council awarded an agreement to Chastain at a cost not to exceed $148,680 to perform
the following dredging related services for Basin 6:
✓ Prepare all bid plans and specifications.
✓ Assist the City with the bidding process and bid evaluations.
✓ Perform monthly in-lake surveys of contractor progress and prepare monthly contractor pay
estimates based on the surveys.
✓ Perform project close out services including record drawing preparation.
This amendment will allow Chastain to add bid plans and specifications for Basin 1 to the Basin 6 bid
documents at a cost not to exceed $5,501. Basin 1 will most likely not be dredged for at least 2 '/z years.
Therefore, the in-lake survey, contractor progress and close out services are not included in this
amendment as it cannot be accurately determined at this time what those services might cost in the future.
POTENTIAL OBJECTION: None foreseen.
INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: None.
STAFF REFERENCE:
Keith D. Alexander,Director of Water Management,424-2863 or kalexander@decaturil.gov
BUDGET IMPLICATIONS:
Funds for the agreement and this amendment are included in this fiscal year's Lake Capital Budget.
