� . _ <br /> Project Bid Review <br /> The project plans and specifications were prepared by Engineering Division staff. The project <br /> was advertised August 26, 2009, and bids were opened on September 16, 2009. The results for <br /> the letting are as follows: <br /> Compared to <br /> Engineer's Est. <br /> Bidder Bid Price Over(-Under) <br /> Insituform Technologies USA, Inc. $409,565.60 (-16.99%) <br /> Hoerr Construction, Inc. $467,529.00 (-5.25%) <br /> Visu-Sewer ofIllinois, LLC $541,864.40 9.82% <br /> Engineer's Estimate $493,420.00 ------ <br /> Insituform Technologies provided the lowest, qualified bid. Staffrecommends that the City <br /> Council approve a contract with Insituform Technologies USA, Inc. to perform the 2009 <br /> Trenchless Long Lining Repairs Project. Insituform Technologies has successfully completed <br /> previous long lining projects for the City. <br /> Insituform Technologies is one of the leaders and founders of cured in place pipe lining systems. <br /> Insituform was founded in 1971 and has lined over 17,000 miles of pipe throughout the world. <br /> Insituform designs, manufactures and installs all of their own cured in place pipe lining systems. <br /> POTENTIAL OBJECTION: There are no known objections to this resolution and bid award. <br /> INPUT FROM OTHER SOURCES: None <br /> STAFF REFERENCE: Richard Marley, Director of Public Works and Matt Newell, City I <br /> Engineer. Matt Newell will be in attendance at the City Council meeting to answer any <br /> questions of the Council on this item. <br /> BUDGET/TIME IMPLICATIONS: <br /> Budget Impact: <br /> Funding for this project is currently allocated from the Sanitary Sewer Fund is $376,615.60 and <br /> $32,950 from the Capital Improvement Fund. The Sewer Fund is supported by the user fees, and <br /> the Capital Improvement Fund is supported by transfers from the General Fund. The total <br /> project cost for trenchless long lining is $409,565.60. <br /> Staffing Impact: <br /> Stafftime has been allocated for managing this project. The project is scheduled to begin in <br /> October and completed by April 1, 2010. <br /> Page � 2 <br />
