Page � 2 <br /> ❖ Emails or letters were sent to everyone who attended the town hall meetings, focus <br /> groups and other outreach events informing them that the Draft Plan was available for viewing <br /> and soliciting their comments. One letter and a few phone comments were received. <br /> ❖ Contact was made with township officials and meetings were held with 9 supervisors. <br /> ❖ Staff participated in 3 radio interviews on the Draft Plan. One on one conversations <br /> were held with major employers, government officials, business owners, company CEO's and <br /> many other stakeholders prior to and after release of the Draft Plan. <br /> ❖ General information was made available and locations for viewing the Draft Plan were <br /> provided to those attending the various neighborhood meetings. <br /> ❖ Presentations were made to a number of local civic and business groups, including the <br /> Macon County Mayor's Association, the Farm Bureau, Decatur Jobs Council, Chamber of <br />' Commerce, Forsyth Rotary Club, DUATS, Education Coalition and Leadership Breakfast. <br /> ❖ Discussions with the Regional Planning Commission (RPC) on details of the Plan <br /> continued from October 2008 through May 2009. <br /> ❖ In May 2009, the RPC recommended that Draft Plan, with the changes and corrections <br />' be sent to the Count 's Environment Education, Health & Welfare EEHW Committee for its <br /> Y , � ) <br /> a roval and to forward the Final Draft Plan on to the full County Board. <br /> NN <br /> ❖ Staff met with the EEHW Committee in May 2009, provided what the RPC had <br /> re uested and the Plan has been forwarded to the Count Board where it is antici ated to wait <br /> q Y p <br /> for the Final Draft of the Plan to be completed. <br /> ❖ All changes and corrections to date have been completed. Staff prepared a summary of <br /> the changes and current copies of the Final Draft were printed for distribution to the Steering <br /> Committee. <br /> ❖ The Steering Committee met on June 4, 2009, at which time a few, minor modifications <br /> were made. The meeting was concluded with their formal and unanimous adoption of a <br /> Resolution recommending that the Final Draft, dated May 22, 2009, be approved and adopted <br /> by the Decatur City Council and Macon County Board. <br /> ❖ At their meeting on July 9, 2009, the Macon County Board unanimously adopted a <br /> Resolution approving the Final Draft Plan. <br /> ❖ On August 6, 2009, the Decatur Plan Commission unanimously recommended that the <br /> Final Draft Plan be adopted by the Decatur City Council. <br />
