Director of Publi W � �� ����`��� <br /> y, , c orks !\ � <br /> . . . � <br /> SUBJECT: A ent with Bambridge, Gee, Milanski and Associates for Capacity <br /> Enhancement Alternative Analysis of the K-Mart Pump Station <br /> City Project 08-25 <br /> INTRODUCTION: <br /> It is recommended that the City Council approve the attached resolution authorizing an Agreement <br /> with Bainbridge, Gee, Milanski and Associates (BGM) to perform a capacity enhancement <br /> alternative analysis of the pump station located north of Rural King, known as the "K-Mart Pump <br /> Station", and the Mayor to sign and the City Clerk to attest. The expenditure for this service is for <br /> an amount not to exceed $13,800. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> Prior Council Action: <br /> July 1, 2002 —Council approved Resolution R2002-122 authorizing the City to enter into an <br /> agreement with the Sanitary District of Decatur for the maintenance of certain City of Decatur <br /> pump stations for a yearly amount of$47,733.28 plus material and overtime costs. <br /> December 15, 2008 - Council approved Resolution R2008-231 authorizing an Intergovernmental <br /> Cooperation Agreement with the Sanitary District of Decatur, (SDD)to replace the City's K-Mart <br /> pump station located north of the Rural King Shopping Center on the east side of the city. The <br /> resolution authorized the City to reimburse the SDD up to $138,000 for design and construction <br /> costs related to this pump station. <br /> July 6, 2009—Council approved Resolution R2009-111 authorizing the City to enter into an <br /> agreement with the Sanitary District of Decatur for the Maintenance of Certain City of Decatur <br /> Pump Stations for a yearly amount of$85,647.25 plus material and overtime costs. <br /> K-Mart Pump Station Capacity Limited <br /> As the Sanitary District of Decatur proceeded with the design work for the improvement of the K- <br /> Mart pump station, north of Rural King, concern was raised regarding the capacity of the station <br /> and the potential development in the area that would drain to the station.
