, <br /> As used in this Agreement, "tires" shall mean a casing for a tubeless type tire; the term "City <br /> buses" shall mean, unless otherwise indicated, all of the transit coaches and trolley replica <br /> coaches owned or leased by the City at any time during the term of this Agreement. <br /> Tire sizes to be specified under this lease agreement shall include, but not be limited to the <br /> following: <br /> a) 9R22.5; b) 275/70R22.5; and c) 315/80R22.SCTR. <br /> Only new tires and retreaded tires shall be accepted or utilized by the City; regrooved tires shall <br /> not be accepted or utilized by the City. <br /> The City agrees to provide wheels or rims and all necessary equipment and supplies, and to ', <br /> assume complete responsibility for servicing all tires delivered hereunder, including, but not <br /> limited to, driving vehicles to and from tire service facilities, making all wheel changes, keeping <br /> tires inflated to an air pressure recommended by the Contractor, having air lines conveniently <br /> placed to take proper care of the inflating of tires, keeping wheels in alignment and brakes <br /> properly adjusted, mounting and demounting tires from rims, providing safe and suitable space <br /> inside its garage for the secure storage of tires and wheels, and making all repairs on tires and <br /> wheels which may be necessary to keep them in proper running condition, without charge to the <br /> Contractor. The City further agrees to permit any authorized representative of the Contractor to <br /> inspect and to inventory the tires and wheels on vehicles, together with extra tires and wheels. <br /> The City shall at all times, when requested, advise the Contractor of the location of all vehicles <br /> and extra tires and wheels to permit such inspection and inventory. The Contractor agrees to <br /> perform such inspections at least once every one hundred eighty (180) calendar days. <br /> The Contractor shall be responsible for branding the sidewall of the tires with an identification <br /> number as a means of record keeping. It shall not be the responsibility of the City to provide the <br /> Contractor individual tire brand numbers and tire changes on a per tire basis. However, if the City <br /> changes tires, the City shall provide the Contractor monthly tire change information sufficient to <br /> identify the number of tires applied/removed by vehicle number and the date of the change. <br /> 5. PAYMENT FOR SERVICES <br /> The City agrees to provide to the Contractor, by the tenth day of each month, an accurate record <br /> of the daily miles driven by each City bus during the preceding month. The Contractor agrees to <br /> provide to the City an invoice for the mileage driven by City buses using its tires, by tire size, on <br /> the basis of the rates set forth in"Attachment A". The City shall remit payment by check within <br /> thirty (30) days after receipt of a completed invoice. <br /> The City agrees to use a method of computing and recording tire mileage of the City buses <br /> which is acceptable to the Contractor, and to allow the Contractor or its agents the right, at any <br /> reasonable time during normal business hours,to audit the City's records for the purpose of <br /> verifying actual vehicle mileage. <br /> The City agrees to furnish state and federal tax exemption certificate numbers to the Contractor <br /> for any sales, excise, use, disposal, processing or similar taxes or fees imposed upon the tires to <br /> be provided under this Agreement. <br /> Decatur Public Transit System 2 Tire Lease Agreement <br />
