Marley, P.E., Director of Engineering& Infrastivcture <br /> SUBJECT: Agreement with the State of Illinois for Federal Participation for the <br /> Eldorado Street Enhancement Project, City Project 06-25 <br /> SUMMARY RECOMMENDATION: <br /> It is recommended by staffthat the City Council adopt the attached Resolution authorizing the <br /> Mayor to sign, and the City clerk to attest, the following actions: <br /> 1. An Agreement with the State of Illinois to utilize Federal and State funds for the <br /> construction of the Eldorado Street Enhancement Project. The Resolution and <br /> Agreement authorizes a City expenditure of$308,280 to provide matching funds and <br /> fund items that are not eligible for Enhancement funding. <br /> 2. An Agreement with URS Corporation to reimburse for additional design work required to <br /> revise the plans and specifications to meet the budgetary constraints and to provide <br /> construction engineering assistance. The Agreement authorizes an expenditure of <br /> $41,640 which includes $26,268 for added design work and $15,372 for construction <br /> engineering assistance. <br /> The Eldorado Street Enhancement Project provides streetscape and pavement improvements on <br /> Eldorado Street from Church Street to the Canadian National-Illinois Central Railroad, east of <br /> Front Street. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> Prior Council Action <br /> February 5, 2007—Council approved Resolution R2007-16 authorizing the City to enter into an <br /> agreement with the State of Illinois for the Eldorado Street Enhancement Project and to <br /> appropriate funds to pay$155,000 for phase I preliminary engineering. <br /> February 5, 2007—Council approved Resolution R2007-17 approving an agreement in the <br /> amount of$154,705.74 with URS Corporation for phase I preliminary engineering on the <br /> Eldorado Street Enhancement Project. <br /> Page � 1 <br />
