I <br /> The four (4) permitted Electronic Message Unit signs shall not exceed 25 feet in I <br /> height and shall not exceed 100 square feet in area. The Electronic Message Unit <br /> portion of the sign shall not exceed 50 square feet in area. The Electronic ! <br /> Message Unit shall be dimmed to 50 percent between the hour$ of 10:00 p.m. and ' <br /> 6:00 a.m. <br /> The request is to place an Electronic Message Unit sign at each of the four(4) main entry <br /> points so that hospital clients and visitors may better navigate within the campus. There <br /> are currently four (4) freestanding standing signs where the proposed Electronic Message <br /> Unit signs will be located. This proposed signage will help to reduce the time for clients <br /> to receive much needed medical attention. The Electronic Message Units will be able to <br /> communicate if there is any construction which may otherwise hinder the movement of <br /> clients and visitors on campus. <br /> The City Council recently approved an amendment to the sign ordinance which would <br /> allow for this type of signage however, the Overlay District has certain restrictions <br /> concerning EMU's.
