Excerpts from Plan Commission Minutes of July 3, 2008 continued:
A motion to forward Calendar Number 08-24 to the City Council with a recommendation for
approval is suggested.
Mr. John stated the PUD includes a walkway along the south fence that was intended to provide
pedestrian/bicycle access to and through the former West Decatur Street underpass. The
walkway is part of this PUD but the stub of West Decatur Street is not. The walkway is now
obstructed with overgrown vegetation in some areas and the underpass is a disaster area. He
would like City staff to look into the condition of this site and if representation was made that
Decatur Street was to be maintained as a walkway then the City should make them honor their
commitment. Ms. Stickle will look into the matter and report to the Plan Commission on her
findings.
Mr. Phil Cochran, representative, was sworn in by Mrs. Poland.
Mr. Cochran stated there are over five hundred (500) students who reside in the Woods complex.
The developers desire to build a swimming pool and fitness center for the use of the residents.
There were no objectors present.
It was moved and seconded (Peck/Dunn) to forward Cal. No. 08-24 to the City Council with
recommendation for approval as presented by staf£ Motion carried ten (10) to zero (0)to one (1)
with Mr. Mickler abstaining from the vote.
